Welcome to the 2023-2024 hockey season!

Registration for the 2023-24 season will begin

JULY 1, 2023 for registration for Tryouts

 

Should you have questions that are not answered below please view the Frequently Asked Questions prior to contacting the Registrar as noted below. **During registration email will be monitored on a regular basis.  Emails will be returned between 24 to 48 hours from the time received**

Early discounted registration fee: June 15 - June 30, is $300.00+ GST/player for U13, U15, U16 and U18.
Registration fee: effective on July 1 - July 31, is $375.00 + GST /player for U13, U15, U16 and U18.
Late registration: effective Aug 1 - Aug 23, is $500.00 +GST /player for U13, U15, U16 and U18.

A non refundable processing fee is charged per transaction.
DEADLINE to register for U13, U15, U16, U18 will be August 23, 2023REGISTRATION WILL OPEN JUNE 15, 2023

We will accept LATE registrants up to the deadline.. With the exception of U21 players who will continue with the movement of players up to the deadline of January 10th.

NO REFUNDS will be given after August 1st.  All refunds prior to August 1st are subject to a $50.00 non refundable fee.  After August 1st we will only issue a refund due to an injury and a physician’s note may be required. There will be no refunds once a player has stepped on the ice.

Hockey Calgary has instituted re-certification of the Respect in Sport ("RIS") parent program every four years.  Those who completed the RIS course prior to May 1, 2019 will have their certification reset and will be required to re-certify prior to the first tryout skate. ** FIRST TIME REGISTRANTS ONLY**

If you are registering for Elite (quadrant) tryouts for the first time, your child's hockey profile must be shared with your quadrant association before you will be able to register for tryouts. In order to be eligible to register, if you live in the NWCAA boundaries, please email the NWCAA Administrator at admin@nwcaa.ca stating that your player is a first-time registrant with the following information:

Address
Player Hockey Canada ID #
Current Hockey Association or Last place you played hockey

Transfer (share) requests can be submitted immediately. Once the process is complete you will be notified and can then register for tryouts.  This process can take up to 5 business days. Please submit your requests early so you do not miss the deadlines. File shares will not be accepted after Aug 18, 2023.

  • To register for the U13, U15, U16, U18, NWCAA camps and/or tryouts you must reside within the NWCAA boundaries.
  • The Hockey Calgary Boundaries for the NWCAA are as follows:  View the Boundaries.  Members include U13, U15, U16, U18 and U21 aged players who's permanent residence is within the boundaries of the following Community Districts and junior aged players who qualify under Rule AA7: Arbour Lake, Bowness, Citadel, Cougar Ridge, Crestmont, Dalhousie, Elbow Valley, Greenwood/Greenbriar, Hawkwood, Lynx Ridge, Montgomery, Parkdale, Point McKay, Ranchlands, Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak, Royal Vista, Scenic Acres, Silver Springs, St Andrews Heights, Tuscany, University Heights, University of Calgary Residence, Valley Ridge, Varsity, Wentworth, West Springs, as well as the residents of the Springbank Minor Hockey Association who reside outside the Calgary city limits.
  • Hockey Canada has moved to a registration platform using TeamSnap. You will require your players Hockey Canada ID in order to register. See FAQ to find out how to locate your Hockey Canada ID.  We are not able to find this for you.
  • NWCAA strongly advise all players to register with your respective community hockey association in addition to registering for the NWCAA tryouts in case the player is not successful in making a NWCAA team.

PREP CAMPS

Session limits are constrained to:
12 forwards per session
8 defenders per session
4 goalies per session

**NO REFUNDS will be be given after July 31st. All refunds prior to July 31 are subject to a non refundable fee of $50.00.  After July 31st we will only issue a refund due to an injury prior to the start date that prevents the player from attending; a physician's note must be provided.  To cancel please email Claudia Issler at admin@nwcaa.ca 

Please be sure to select the correct age group, position and the correct week.
Camps are for players that are registered for the NWCAA tryouts. (No exceptions will be made)

TRYOUTS

Evaluation Timelines and Processes-June 2022

U21

Registration will open on JULY 1, 2023 !

The U21 Registration Link is located under the Registration drop down menu "Tryout Registration" then locate U21 tryouts and Registration

Tryout Camp will be September 12, 13, 14, 2023. Location Winsport Arena D

Players must first register online to tryout prior to your first ice time. There is no tryout fee.  Only players who have registered online for tryouts will be allowed to tryout.

Tryout dates can be found under the "Tryout Schedules" located under the Registration menu - click on the U21 tab or you may view each U21 team.

If you find that you are not able to register please contact and forward the following information;

This will allow for a quick search in the Hockey Canada system to better identify the reason for your unsuccessful registration.

*Important Note for U21 Players who are transferring from a team out of Province: There is a $105.00 transfer fee that is charged per player and must be collected prior to your 1st ice time. This fee is automatically charged by Hockey Alberta to the quadrants per player for all out of province transfers.
